Domina Jade Reviews the 22" Original BadAss

Domina Jade was given an Original BadAss 22" for her birthday this year. After a session with the sub. who bought it for her, she was kind enough to review it on her blog, giving it an 8 out of 10. The full review is here. I'm just going to quote part of it below:

22" paddle is probably not the best choice for me because I have small hands and it is on the heavy side. Also be vigilant when spanking someone continuously because you hands will feel slippery from sweat on the plastic sleeve. The paddle gives a nice thuddy feeling, but it will leave marks if you swing harder with the shoulders.

The paddle did give alex's bum cheeks a nice warm glowy look. But when I swung harder it can bruise as well. I do recommend this paddle for the 'scare' factor. But I won't play with this device for long periods of time because my hands did feel the fatigue after awhile (25 spankings plus 1 extra for good luck).

Most people do seem to prefer the 17" Original BadAss or the 17" Master Mechanic… It's certainly a lot easier to swing a shorter paddle or flogger during a longer session. And the shorter ones offer more control.

Then again, I've had some people that really enjoyed the extra length and weight of the 22". I guess the choice really boils down to upper body strength and how much time you plan to use it. For comparison, read Vixen's review of the same paddle if you haven't already. It's some hot damn writing!

I'm a little more concerned with Domina Jade's experience of the handle getting slippery. Hmmm… I hadn't thought about that. It could be pretty bad if the paddle slipped out of someone's hands mid-swing and brained someone!

I've been debating the idea of offering a foam grip for the paddles, but I really liked the look of the shiny black plastic. And, too,  I still have about 900 of the handles in stock (the minimum order was 1000). Anyone want to weigh in with an opinion? Should I offer foam grips as an option? I think they would probably be more functional, but not quite as sexy looking. Let me know what you think.
